Hello
My name is Joshua Sulfridge and I'm a math nerd! I love God and strive to be a God-fearing man. I'm happily married to my beautiful wife going on two years now. You'll likely find me playing guitar at my church, playing some volleyball, or you guessed it, training some Jiu-Jitsu. I'm a graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland as well as Florida Institute of Technology. I hold a bachelor's degree in Physics and Mathematics as well as a Master's degree in Operations Research. I've been teaching and tutoring math for about 13+ years now. Teaching is a passion of mine and I find it to be a God-given calling which is why I created JJM! While teaching, I discovered that many students lack the basic fundamentals of Mathematics and just get pushed to the next grade level anyways where they struggle with more advanced material. JJM helps students become more confident in their math skills no matter where they are in their math journey. Whether you are completely lost or want to sharpen already strong math skills, JJM is for you! All you have to do is begin with an attitude ready to learn. See you in class!
Josh-Jitsu Mathematics is primarily an educational curriculum striving to build mathematical proficiency in its students. However, I do believe in putting God first in all things including this service and so I would like to take a minute to share what I believe with you!
We live in a broken world due to our sin.
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
Sin is willfully disobedience to what God has commanded us to do and because we choose our way instead of His, we face the consequences of it. The Bible teaches:
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23)
We are all condemned to an eternal death because of our sin and there is no amount of good works that can save us. It is only through Jesus Christ's sacrifice on the cross to die for us in our place that we have 'the gift of God, eternal life'.
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
"Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13)
All that is needed to be saved is to call on the name of the Lord. Trust Jesus as your personal savior, believe that He died for your sins, and repent from your sins. Follow Jesus.
"If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved." (Romans 10:9-10)

I hope that you too come to know the same hope I do too. The Lord has lead me to teach and the 2 mediums through which I love to teach is Math and Jiu-Jitsu (Though in Jiu-Jitsu I am still very much a novice). These two are passions of mine and I decided to combine them into this thing called Josh-Jitsu Mathematics. My desire is to give JJM to God and let Him do with it as He wills. I hope you choose God and I will be praying for you. You won't regret it and it is no understatement to say it is the most important decision you'll ever make. Praise be to God! .
